Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern locksmith services and materials supplied through Dialock Northampton by Dialock LTD (company number 08357336), registered in England and Wales, at Meridien House, 42 Upper Berkeley Street, London, England, W1H 5QL. The website is dialocknorthampton.co.uk. Telephone: 01604 913232. Email: dialock.service@gmail.com.
1. Booking and contract
We provide emergency and planned locksmith services, including lock opening, repair, replacement, uPVC door mechanisms and security upgrades. The scope of work, materials and price are agreed with you before work begins. You must have the legal right to request work at the property, and we may request evidence of your authority.
2. Quotes and pricing
We do not charge a separate call-out fee. Quotes explain labour, parts and other agreed charges. A quotation is normally valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. A telephone estimate may change after an on-site assessment; we will explain any difference and seek your agreement before starting chargeable work. Any additional work must be agreed before it is carried out.
3. Attendance and timing
Our advertised 20–30 minute emergency arrival is an estimate rather than a guarantee, and depends on location, traffic and availability. We will communicate material changes where practicable.
4. Payment and specialist materials
Payment is due on completion unless otherwise agreed. For approved account customers, invoices are due within 7 days unless a different period is agreed. A deposit of up to 40% may be requested for specialist materials before ordering, with the balance due on completion. We will make any deposit requirement clear before you agree.
5. Cancellations and statutory rights
Consumers booking at a distance or away from our business premises may have a 14-day right to cancel, subject to statutory exceptions. If you expressly request that work begin within that period, and then cancel, you may need to pay a proportionate amount for work already supplied where the law permits. Certain urgent repairs or maintenance specifically requested at your home are exempt from the statutory cancellation right for the urgent work. If a service is fully performed during the cancellation period, the right to cancel may be lost where the applicable legal conditions are met. Any cancellation charges for appointments must be disclosed and agreed before booking and cannot override your statutory rights.
6. Your responsibilities
Please provide accurate information about the issue, safe access to the property, any necessary permission and appropriate working conditions. Follow reasonable safety instructions. We may decline work where authority, access or safety cannot be established.
7. Our responsibilities
We will perform services with reasonable care and skill, use suitable materials, and take reasonable care of your property. Non-destructive methods are preferred where practical; certain defective or high-security mechanisms may require destructive entry, which we will explain before proceeding where practicable.
8. 12-month warranty
We provide a 12-month warranty on the parts we supply and our workmanship, from the date the work is completed. It covers defects attributable to those parts or our workmanship, but not subsequent misuse, accidental damage, normal wear or unauthorised alterations. Contact us promptly if you believe a defect has developed so we can investigate and arrange an appropriate remedy. The warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable law.
9. Complaints and refunds
Please contact us using the details above, describing the work, date and concern. We will review the issue and propose a suitable resolution. Refunds and other remedies will be provided where required by law; the remedy depends on the circumstances and applicable consumer rights.
10. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot legally be excluded. For business customers, any exclusion of indirect losses applies only to the extent permitted by law. Consumer statutory rights remain unaffected.
11. Events beyond our control
We are not responsible for delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, but will take reasonable steps to keep you informed and minimise disruption.
12. Website terms
Website content is provided for general information. You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access or reproduce our content without permission, except as allowed by law. External websites linked from this site are governed by their own terms and policies. We may update this website and these Terms from time to time.
13. Governing law
